Indoor Kart Racing & The IKWC

During the last two decades, Indoor Kart Racing has established itself as one of the most popular forms of competitive motorsport. It successfully combines affordability and convenience with speed and safety, attracting a huge number of competitors world-wide. People like to race, and indoor rental kart racing is affordable racing for the people!! No need to haul equipment to the track, no need to mess with oil, engines, or to struggle to figure out kart set-up. With all necessary karts and equipment provided at the track, drivers can concentrate on the best part of racing, THE DRIVING!

Some indoor kart racers compete for pure joy and entertainment, while some race with the competitive spirit of a Formula 1 driver. Before 2005, the more competitive indoor kart drivers had to contend themselves with competing at local track leagues, regional leagues (where available), and special endurance events to find a higher level competition. No longer are these the only options. With these top racers in mind, Racingschools.com created the IKWC, the Indoor Kart World Championship!

Since 2005, the IKWC has united in competition a truly diverse field of international drivers from nations such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Peru, Sweden, USA, and Ukraine. Participants have included numerous experienced drivers from many levels of car and kart racing, as well as less experienced hopefuls looking for a real challenge. The 3 year history created since 2005 has shown the Austrians to be the dominant driver force in the sport of indoor kart racing, with the Brazilians in a close 2nd place. Come represent your country at the next IKWC!

At the IKWC, indoor kart racers compete at the highest level of the sport to determine the season’s World Champion Driver, World Champion Team, and a World Champion Nation. The titles are great, and in 2008 there is also a healthy cash prize of €500 to be won (in each of two separate weight classes), as well as sponsored drives in the 2009 Indoor Kart World Championship event in Brazil, & more! Though the IKWC competition includes the best drivers from the world indoor kart racing community, the Indoor Kart World Championship still remains true to the nature and roots of indoor karting: being open to entry by anyone*, regardless of experience (or lack there of…)! Where else in the world can a racing fan or enthusiast actually go racing wheel-to-wheel against top level drivers for a World Championship, for top awards, and REAL prize money? Only at the IKWC, the World Championship YOU CAN RACE!

In 2008, a new era will begin for the Indoor Kart World Championship, one that will see the race on a yearly rotation between North America, South America and Europe. The 2008 IKWC will be in Kortrijk, Belgium, the 2009 IKWC will be in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the 2010 IKWC will be back in Phoenix, USA.

The IKWC event is more than just competition. Its an opportunity for members of the indoor kart world community to meet, to make new friends, advertise products, make business contacts, and most of all, enjoy a great time!
