The host track for the 2008 Indoor Kart World Championship will be the WORLDKARTS Flanders Indoor Karting (FIK) in Kortrijk, Belgium. This world class, state-of-the-art facilityis considered one of the best Indoor Kart racing facilities in Europe, and has a long and very challenging track.
At FIK in Belgium, drivers will be thoroughly challenged by a 0.56mile (900m) track with about 15 turns, including a tunnel and an elevation variation in the form of a cross-over-track bridge. The track lay-out combines fast sweepers and tight hairpin turns with high speed areas, and are designed to challenge the drivers, no matter how skilled they may be. Different configurations with slight variations will be used in the 2008 Indoor Kart World Championship, in 30 minutes, 1 hour, and 1.5 hour long races!
WORLDKARTS Flanders Indoor Karting has a complete entertainment and corporate meeting environment with conference rooms, wireless internet connection, video games arcade, restaurant & bar to hang out. The F1-Cafe' offers a variety of snack foods & drinks.
WORLDKARTS Flanders Indoor Karting (FIK) uses the Belgian made WORLDKARTS chassis, fitted with a 270cc Honda GX engine putting out 9HP, and slick racing tires. These are some of the most powerful gasoline powered indoor kart racing engines available anywhere, and used by some of the best indoor tracks in the world. Simple single gear, gas and brake pedal format. Rear disk brakes. All karts are provided by FIK, and use is included on the entry fee. Helmet provided if you do not have one!
